Overall analysis of film posters

Overall I have established that our film poster needs to be a large image, filling the whole of a poster, with small writing at the bottom, the edge of the photo doesn't need to be particularly interesting but the centre does, drawing the eye to it. All of these posters have some sort of effect applied to them whether the image being distorted, images cut up, extra colour added (symbolism) or some kind of post production to make them that bit more intresting. Also we need to come up as a group, with a caption that intrigues the audience to make them want to come and see our film in the cinema. Commonly on film posters with a thriller genre have very dark colour schemes with little colour, if any at all, high lighting parts, they also mainly have white writing which stands out against this dark background.
