Large photo consuming the whole of the back ground of the poster, no border, rule of thirds used (girl is standing on the vertical line), the text is white, san serif with a slight haze to it giving it mysteriousness. All the small text is at the bottom, not distracting from the main image, our film poster would have to contain this to ensure it looked genuine. The image is plain and simple, nothing out the ordinary, which could be done at home. A mid-shot of a girl stading at a sink, the only thing capturing your attention is the man which is in the mirror but cannot be seen behind her, this is the thing that makes the audience curious. There is one simple caption "Evil will do anything to live" this is white and alligned to the left, the audience automatically assumes that this man is evil and after the girl due to conventions of existing horror films and stories.
The Happening Directed by Mark Wahlberg film poster

This film poster also has the image filling the whole of the poster, with no border, the image on this poster is very dark using navy blues and blacks. This one also uses the rule of thirds but in a different way, having the focal point of the image in the centre box. Most importantly this image has been distorted to give to impression that the people are in danger, not sure what is happening and they cannot control it. All the text on this poster again is white but this time all of the text is centre alligned.
The Box Directed by Richard Kelly film poster

This film poster's main image is a photograph of (we presume) the main actress. The image is grey scale, the only colour is the red stipe right down the centre of her face which people associate with blood, and something bad is going to happen to her involving the person who is alot smaller, this person is mysterious as they have no face and the object he is holding is also mysterious. The text is all san serif, white or red, with the word "box" in bold. The poster is very dark indicating a dark story line, the picture works against the rule of thirds with the red stripe down the centre, but also with it where the eyes are at the intersections.
